FDA Targets Excess Radiation From Medical Scans

Seeks to reduce radiation
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today announced an initiative to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure from three types of medical imaging procedures: computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine studies, and fluoroscopy. These procedures are the greatest contributors to total radiation exposure within the U.S. population and use much higher radiation doses than other [...]

Five Great Reasons to Drink Tea

Herbal tea has been used by many cultures as an herbal remedy since anciant times. Several recent studies have found a wide range of health benefits from green tea.

According to Chinese legend, tea was discovered accidentally by an emperor 4,000 years ago. Since then, Traditional Chinese Medicine has recommended green tea for headaches, body aches and pains, digestion, depression, immune enhancement, detoxification, as an energizer, and to prolong life.

All teas (green, black, and oolong) are derived from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The difference is in how the plucked leaves are prepared. Herbal tea—technically not “tea” at all—uses a blend of dried plant flowers, stems, roots, or leaves for a hot brew.

Here are five health concerns and some herbal teas to try for them

1: Stress: chamomile, kava, lavender, passionflower
2: Energy: yerba mate, ginseng
3: Colds and Flu: astragalus, ginger, echinacea, rose hips
4: Indigestion: cardamon,fennel,peppermint
5: Insomnia: chamomile, lemon balm, lavender, valerian, hops

Tea preparation is an art. For the best tea, start with a ceramic teapot with a lid. Rinse the teapot with hot water to warm it, then add one teaspoon of tea or one tea bag for each cup of water. In a tea kettle, bring water to a full boil—water at a bubbling boil agitates the tea leaves and causes them to open, for the full extraction of flavor. Pour boiling water over the tea bags or tea leaves in the teapot, and steep for a full three to five minutes.

Okay Great, So I’m a Reiki 1 – But Now What Do I Do?

So let’s talk about Reiki 1, and how to get going…

For, we all have to start somewhere.

We were all beginners at one time, but nobody wants to spend their hard earned cash on a beginner, do they?

They may be no good :-)

Or, they may be brilliant – but who would take the gamble?

So, how do we gain some much needed experience?

Simple – start with yourself.

YOU are always your best first client.

Always positive and always on time…

Who better to pass judgement and give you honest feedback?

Who better to experiment on?

With yourself, you can practice long and hard, or quick and easy. You can sit or lie down. You can listen to soft music or something more upbeat. You can use that incense, and start coughing because the rooms too small, or use scented candles instead!

Really BE your first client.

Come in, sit down. Talk things through with yourself. Get comfy and relax – note what you like and don’t like.

Choose your music and smells carefully.

Choose your colors and clothes carefully too.

If you get agitated about all this, then stop and ask why?

Because, if you can’t do this for Number One, your most influential client, then how will you be with poor joe-public?

Remember – you are going to be there too, for a whole hour or more!

Just think about that…

It’s okay doing one session, but three a day is three hours in silence (with your client, perhaps, snoring to the music), backache because the chair looked nice but you didn’t try it out first, and you come to realize that tinkly water music makes you want to go… :-)

So, just take time out to simply give yourself a session once per day.

This also sets you up for the day. Giving and sharing with others can, and will, drain you at times. It is good to know how to top up your batteries quickly.

The first month of using Reiki is important because it sets a pattern of behaviour.

It also allows any adjustments and changes within you to settle down.

As you feel and note the changes you will know what to expect in your clients.

You may feel more tired – so sleep more.

You may feel more thirsty – so have plenty of water to hand.

You may feel emotionally wobbly – so be gentle with yourself, don’t watch the news or horror films etc.

Go for walks in nature instead, it’ll help ground you.

Take a closer look at yourself…

Peel your onion and shed your tears as you become whole and at one with yourself.

For these are all things that may happen with your clients.

And if you’ve been there too, then there is empathy.

In fact, you’ll probably find yourself drawing to you – clients who are very like YOU…

They’ll have an uncanny list of complaints that you just happen to have experienced yourself, so you’ll know exactly where they’recoming from and how to deal with it comfortably.

For when you know yourself, you will recognize yourself, in every other person.

You see, your whole life experience, so far, has brought you to this moment. You now feel ready to help others move forward in their lives too.

Their hopes and fears are yours.

Their joys and sorrows are yours too.

We cry and laugh together.

We mean nothing without each other.

This stage in Reiki, to us, is Level One – Reiki 1.

Never mind the symbols, just feel and get to know the energy.

How it feels for you, tingly, hot, cold, bubbly or even nothing at all.

When it seems to work best or worst – (time of day) etc.

Using the Reiki for ourselves connects us to ‘the one energy’.

It expands our awareness.

By taking time out to do the Reiki, we slow down.

We become conscious of all its subtle nuances.

We take time to witness ourselves and how we feel and react.

We become aware of where balance is needed both in outer situations and with inner emotions.

Healer heal thyself – first – level one!

Then heal others – with gratitude – level two.

For there is only one energy.

You are it… and it is you.

For thou art me and I am you.

Perfection in reflection.

Art of Attention: Breathing For Healing Sleep

A few words to characterize most human brains: busy, loud, stubborn, and scared. For many of us, our overactive brains keep us from opening to our deepest, most loving, most comfortable selves. When we are not open to these aspects of ourselves, we either hide by hibernating (literally or figuratively), or we stay busy with hilariously misaligned priorities. So busy that we're not sleeping as we should.

In myself, when my priorities are askew [I'm procrastinating, fast-forwarding, not paying attention to the present abundance], I'm actually just scared, and i don't sleep. The fear that keeps many of us awake: that we aren't seen, heard, felt - and therefore alive. As disorienting as this fear may be, it is quite human, but it gets us doing the darndest things, into the wee hours of the morning, and not sleeping.

Tangentially, if you're not currently sleeping well and you're tripping over yourself about it as we all do sometimes, play your guitar [or whatever instrument you've always wanted to pick up]. At least it becomes time more sweetly spent.

If and when you want to try a practice that may help you reclaim some nourishing rest, read on.

After careful observation, I'm here to report that the only break from this fear -- whatever form it's taking in your life -- is breathing consciously. Breathing delivers me into the present moment. And breathing is key to getting your healing rest.

When my mind has such a hold that I cannot breathe, Reiki returns me to my breathing.
The brief practice below incorporates Reiki, which helps us breathe, combined with conscious breathing, which helps us sleep.

Consistency equals efficacy here; you'll feel the cumulative effects.

1. For everyday situations (walking, waiting, sitting -- right now), place your left hand over your heart, center of your chest, fingers spread, palm flat. With your hand there, breathe into and around your brain. Use your breathing to make space between your actual brain and your skull (be creative with the visual and you will feel it in your softening eyes); then you may even breathe some more space between the two hemispheres of your brain. Keep your brain porous, spacious, and notice how that quality of openness is actually a reflection of your spacious heart below. Hold the space and notice your thought-pace slow down. Use this in meetings, in conversations, with children. Or several breaths right now.

2. Ideally done lying down or reclining, try this placement right now if you can. Place one or both hands on the top crown of your head, one in front of the other, elbows out to the sides, and breathe deeply into your heart. Broaden your heart; widen the space in the center of your chest laterally. As you breathe, maintain your expansive heart and notice the reflection of that opening higher up, in your mind, as well. Put some attention on the resonance in and around your hands.

Take a few breaths here.

2A. When you're using this placement specifically before sleep: lying on your back, place your hands on the top crown of your head and let your elbows rest out to the sides on your pillow. Let your eyes relax [closed or open, as you wish] and review the scenes of your day with no judgment: where have you been, how did you speak, what did you offer? Be objective and keep your heart expansive as you breathe here. This is information-gathering, not judgment time.

The aim of this nightly review is to learn your habitual tendencies with your heart wide open-- what they look like, sound like, their consequences -- so they don't continue to infect your every interaction. You'll see which attitudes drain you and which nurture you. Whether you're horrified, pleased, psyched, mortified upon seeing your behaviors; see those judgments, and remember that no judgment can take you over once you've seen it clearly as you're breathing generously. Notice you're sad: there is sadness, say hello- sadness is present, but it's not YOU. Notice you're thrilled! Greetings, thrilled, that's what that feels like; return to your breathing and simply do whatever needs to be done next.

Your attention on your breathing sits right in the middle of any two strong polarities; if you're breathing, you can see more clearly what's required of you. My teacher recommends 5 minutes for the review; it helps me to have my hands on my head as I watch, and to breathe until my heart feels softer and more open even in the face of what I'm seeing.

Both of these hand placements are incorporated into a full Reiki self-treatment.
Reiki: A Comprehensive Guide offers an enlightening history of this profoundly healing practice as well as details of the full self-treatment. To learn about Reiki, meet Pamela Miles, who's committed herself to Reiki's widespread scientific recognition and medical use in hospitals and critical-care environments [and, very thankfully, in my home].

This practice must be for yourself only - an intimate, quiet practice of self-care.
We must fearlessly breathe through each frightfully sabotaging thought, one at a time, in order to know what real acceptance looks like. It takes longer on some nights, but now we have a practice, a vessel, a direction for a rambunctious brain.

Is such a concrete practice of self-nourishing, Self-acceptance the most efficient salve for sleeplessness? Or is it your 2 a.m. solitary guitar strumming? Let me know what's true for you.

Fun assignment: write the following phrase on 5 small sticky notes and place them at eye level in your kitchen, your fridge, your mirrors, your door.

Take care of yourself.

Reiki is the energy of nature that can cure medical and non-medical problems’

Holistic treatments are increasingly being incorporated into hospitals’ treatment programmes, and such is the demand – and apparent success – of natural therapies such as reiki, the ancient Tibetan-Japanese healing art that draws on the power of nature – that even insurance companies are nowadays paying for cover. Ida Bagus Putu Wijaya (left) is a Reiki Master based at Renon, Denpasar, and Ubud, where he runs healing camps. He spoke with Carla Albertí de la Rossi about his therapy and what it purports to do.

Reiki is, from the Japanese, the use of universal energy. It is claimed that it can cure all illnesses and diseases. Is this the case?
It’s true. It can cure any illness and disease because it is energy that comes from nature; it’s universal. It’s originally from Tibet but it was developed by a Japanese man called Mikao Usui.

How does it work?
First someone must clean the body with the attunement, focusing on the seven chakras. I do acupuncture with something I got from the Mother Temple (Besakih) in Bali. After that, someone can receive the energy with reiki. This energy heals people. The Reiki Master has to know how to clean the chakras. It can work even with people who are sceptical about this practice.

It’s not energy coming from the person, but rather energy channelled through the person – correct?
That’s right. I transfer the energy from God to people.

Is it said that everyone can be empowered to use reiki as a healing method, either on themselves or on others. How do you do an attunement?
A Reiki Master must first clean their seven chakras. The person must concentrate in the five reiki symbols. Then he has to pray to God, or nature, and ask for happiness for every human being and for all animals. They will then have more energy so they will be able to transfer it.
In 21 days the other person that has been attuned can treat someone else. But for this to happen they have to pray every day for 21 consecutive days and concentrate in different parts of their body.

Does it help to follow a certain diet in order to give or receive reiki? For instance, is a vegetarian diet more beneficial?
People have to stop eating lamb, or at least seldom eat it. It’s best when one is vegetarian. It’s also important to eat cooked vegetables and fruit.
Alcohol and tobacco are very bad for reiki. If you smoke or drink the breath circulation will not be good. It’s also important to drink a minimum of eight glasses of water a day.

Is there a religious aspect to reiki? Do you have to follow any particular belief system?
Everybody can study reiki. It’s something universal. An atheist can also learn to do reiki. It’s not something religious.

You learned reiki from a master in Surabaya over a decade ago, and have been practising in Bali ever since. What drew you to this field?
Reiki is the energy from nature; it’s very special. Without the energy from reiki you can’t heal people. Before reiki I did yoga. After that I learned tai chi and I also studied anatomy. These are very important for reiki. I can feel someone’s vibrations to identify their problem.

Give us an example of the kind of people you have helped, particularly what illnesses you have helped to cure.
I’ve cured depression, insomnia, stress, low and high blood pressure, people that suffer from panic attacks.
I’ve also cured breast and womb cancer. Cancer takes two months to be cured because it’s a special treatment. As with all serious illness I must take them to my centre in Ubud.

What’s the meaning of the symbols that reiki practitioners work with?
Chakra is the centre of the power, the centre of energy. It comes from the universe.
Manas represents our thoughts; these are affected by our awareness of the world.
Kala is the time: past, present and future.
Len So May is the light that brings us the truth and goodness. Len So May is very important.
Infinity is love without condition.

Many expat reiki practitioners in Bali offer courses in which there’s a stage one, followed some time later by a second stage and then a third, which is the master element. But you combine the first two in one session. Why?
I combine the first two phases because it’s easier to practise reiki and give energy to someone if I first clean their body.

After receiving an attunement, some people report an overabundance of energy in their bodies and feel almost lightheaded. It can also be a very emotional experience. What’s the reason for this?
Energy depends on karma, on the person’s past life. If the person was good in a past life, then the energy will be good in this life.
When they feel emotional and sometimes hot or lightheaded it’s because their energy is imbalanced.

For many who come to Bali, there is feeling of electricity in the air, as though it is charged with spirituality. Do you agree, and if so, why do you think this is?
That’s right. In Bali everyone, every day, gives offerings to the Gods. Because they always give, there’s something positive and energetic in the atmosphere. Meditation also has great power. Balinese people are balancing the energy.

Is Bali therefore a good place to practise reiki or receive treatments?
It is very good for treatments and to receive energy because Bali has a very positive energy.

Reiki masters can “send energy” to people anywhere else in the world. How does this work?
Yes, they can. They only need to concentrate on the symbols and on the energy. They also have to be thinking about that particular person.

Because of its perceived effectiveness, some hospitals in the West are incorporating reiki into their treatment programmes, and in some cases medical insurance firms are paying for treatments. Is this a sign of reiki’s growing importance in medical care?
Yes, because reiki is the energy of nature that can cure medical and non-medical problems. People are starting to realise this.

Is it said that negative thoughts and feelings are the root causes of illnesses and disease, and that reiki works to dispel these attitudes and restore calm and positivity. Is this how you see it?
Of course. Reiki can get rid of that negative energy.

You say that reiki – this universal source of power that is all around us – comes from God. Can you explain what you mean by that, and is it therefore inherently a religious treatment or experience?
It’s not a religious practice. God is nature.

Reiki symbols were never designed for anything but the ritualistic attunement. By using symbols in healing sessions, there is the likelihood of the client experiencing a detoxification. Using symbols in healing has led many people to dislike Reiki healing because of feeling worse after the treatment.

Many clients and students dislike and disapprove of the waving of hands above their body in a Reiki session. Most times the demonstration of ritualistic movement has led logical and sensible people questioning the validity of such a treatment. The truth is, Reiki was never meant to have public displays rather Reiki has always been a discreet healing process, done with integrity and simplicity. Reiki is not a performance and never was.
Detoxification

Once initiated into Reiki there is a detoxification period. This detoxification lasts for 21 days and can be mild to extreme as each chakra is cleansed. The severity depends whether the student has outstanding emotional and mental issues. Or whether the students has drunk alcohol, taken recreational drugs, ate the wrong foods or smoked before the attunement. These substances create a reaction where the detoxification tends to be worse. Using symbols in healing when someone who has consumed alcohol or taken drugs may well result in a massive detoxification, which can make a person react badly.
Sensible Lifestyle Plans

Reiki tutors advise self-administration and following the Reiki principles as much as possible after a Reiki attunement. Once someone is undergoing Reiki therapy the advice is to reduce or stop addictions, drink lots of water, eat wisely and do moderate exercise which all helps to balance the body, mind and soul. Rarely is there a massive detoxification after Reiki and Seichem therapy or training if the client or student has undergone intensive preparation beforehand. The desire to take care of the body naturally occurs as the student progresses through each level. Or the client undergoes around six sessions of Reiki healing.
No Harsh Manipulation

Reiki can be performed without touch and diagnosis is limited, if not non-existent. Touching is not always necessary for Reiki to work, as Reiki can be administered just a few inches away from the body, or even at great distances. However most people feel reassured by being touched.

Instructions about rekie treatment

Since Reiki is able to work in tandem with nearly any type of medicine or therapy, the fact that some practitioners have developed Reiki massages should not be surprising. Reiki can be used to treat any problem areas in a person's massage, and will aid her with purging the toxins in her body, not to mention adding to the sense of relaxation a good massage will produce.

Instructions

Step 1

Check the client before the massage to make sure she is ready. Make sure the client is wearing loose-fitting clothes, with no belt and no shoes. Ideally, the client should also be naked from the waist up, and lying down in some warm towels on the massage bed.

Step 2

Prepare the client for the massage. Use some massage oils on the client to loosen the skin and muscles, as well as provide some aromatherapy for him. Make sure your hands are warm and supple, in order to minimize the discomfort to the client.

Step 3

Begin to massage the client. Use the technique that works best for you, as Reiki can be incorporated into all types of massage. Some claim that Shiatsu and Thai massages are best suited to prepare a person to receive a Reiki treatment owing to their Asian origins, but this claim has never been substantiated.

Step 4

When the client is in a relaxed and tranquil frame of mind, begin to give the client a Reiki treatment. Since the full Reiki procedure involves 27 hand positions with 5 minutes allotted per hand position, make sure the client knows the time commitment involved. Many practitioners of Reiki massage will instead give a person an abbreviated Reiki treatment, centered on the back and torso.

Step 5

Intersperse the Reiki treatment with the massage. Some practitioners of Reiki massage will instead wait until they discover a problem area in their client, then give that area some special attention with Reiki.

Step 6

Allow the client some time afterwards to adjust to the feeling of being cleansed with Reiki. Many clients, after their first Reiki treatment, experience rushes of emotion such as sadness or guilt. Let the client express these feelings if he wishes, and encourage the client to set aside a block of time afterwards so he can deal with these feelings, which usually pass in 30 minutes or so.

rekie heailing treatment

The practitioner places their hands on (or sometimes above) the client on various parts of the body, usually starting with the head. The Reiki healing energy flows from the practitioners hands to the client and is guided to where it is most needed to cleanse, release blockages and to restore health, balance and well-being.

The treatment is gentle with no manipulation of the skin or muscle tissue. The client may feel heat, cold or even a tingling feeling. In addition, the client may feel physical and emotional sensations as the energy moves through them. It is common for clients to feel so deeply relaxed and calm that they fall asleep. The experience is unique to each individual and may vary from one session to another. Many clients are amazed at the feeling of relaxation they leave with.

Usually one or two Reiki sessions bring release from stress related issues. However, a course of four or more treatments may be recommended for a chronic or more serious condition. Many clients use Reiki to “top-up” their energy levels every four to six weeks. They enjoy the wonderful feelings of vitality gained and are much more able to cope with life’s pressures.

The Reiki treatment will cleanse the body of toxins and creates balance to allow healing to take place. It is recommended you drink plenty of water after your treatment to help this process.
Fee: £30 per treatment

The aura is a field of subtle energy which penetrates and extends out from the physical body. Usually we are unaware of our aura but it is directly affected by our thoughts and feelings. If you have a bad day and are feeling down and tired, your aura will recede to perhaps two to three feet from your body. After a Reiki treatment, your aura will grow to twenty to thirty feet.

Illness first starts in the aura, either as negative Ki formed by the subconscious mind, or as karma, brought from past lives. This negative energy begins to grow in the aura and can extend into the physical body causing disruptions to the chakra’s energy flow (see below) and resulting in physical and mental illness. By cleansing the aura, the client’s energy levels rise and residual energy from previous trauma’s in this or past lives are removed. This allows healing at a deeper level and will help prevent physical illness in the future.

Aura Cleansing can be incorporated into a Reiki Treatment or done separately. When done separately, an aura cleansing treatment usually take about 30 minutes. The cleansing is completely non-invasive and painless as the practitioner works in the area around the client.
Fees: £15 per Aura Cleansing Treatment
£35 combined Reiki Healing and Aura Cleansing Treatment

The Chakra’s are our body’s internal energy transformers which follow the length of the spine. The Chakra’s play an important role in health and healing. There are seven main chakra’s in the body, starting at the root chakra at the base of the spine to the crown chakra at the top of the head.

When the chakra’s are out of balance, the energy and life force which flows through the body is blocked. As a result, difficulties in life or even illness can arise in that area. By balancing the chakra’s, the life force and energy resume their correct flow and maintain health, both in body and mind.

Chakra Balancing is done using a pendulum and crystals. The energy flows clockwise then anti-clockwise from one to the next chakra. Using a pendulum held over the body, the practitioner will identify where the energy flow is moving in the right direction. Where the energy is flowing in the wrong direction, or completely blocked, crystals are placed on the body which correct the flow. The balancing is painless and non-invasive.

Chakra Balancing usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete and is excellent when combined with a Reiki Treatment.

Reflexology relieves stress and helps Chicago writers sell writing

In my work, I've met authors like Sara Paretsky, musicians like Vince Vance and Pete Fountain and all manner of massage experts and wellness gurus. There are many benefits to being a writer and one of them is opportunity. Recently, I had an opportunity to sit down with Chicago area Relexologist Deborah Berg, MIIR. I sat down. She performed reflexology on my hands and feet as we talked about her career and an article I wanted to sell.

Deb told me reflexology is a treatment or "modality" that deals with issues like pain, stress, circulation and overall wellness support. She got into the field after years as a construction general contractor and a stint owning her own tiling business with her daughter. As you can guess, the hard, physical work began to cause some bone and muscle discomfort for her.

Whereas most people seeking a second or third career these days jump out of bed one morning and shout, "Eureka - I'm going to be a writer," Deb had the good sense to pursue a career where she could do good for others and not encounter overwhelming competition at every turn.

This is a column for writers. I'll tie reflexology in by saying the stress relief element is invaluable to writers, considering the shape our marketplace is in these days and the huge volume of people avalanching into this field. Who could be more stressed than we are? You have to sell your work to stay afloat, so you might also consider hooking up with Deb or another reflexologist to do your own article. Think about maybe something on new mothers finding relief for stress and low back pain. Maybe market it to Chicago Parent Magazine.

What is reflexology?

The theory, some say, tracks back to ancient Egypt, china, India and may even have been practiced by early Native Americans. Relexologists believe that certain locations on the hands and on the feet correspond physiologically to various body areas like the spine, skeletal parts, nerves, muscles, organs and glands.

It's thought you can affect those body parts by manipulating, stroking, rubbing or pressing corresponding hand and foot locales. In a session, the relaxation is certainly apparent. It's almost as good as a full body massage. You'll leave feeling a lot calmer than when you arrived. I can’t say if the science is sound, but those in the field swear by it. Some insurance companies may even cover treatments as complementary medicine.

Does reflexology really impact body parts?

At one point in my treatment, Deb was working on the base of my thumb. I could be wrong about the exact location, but as we chatted, my sinuses began draining profusely. It was annoying and embarrassing as my nose ran at a good clip. As I was trying to decide if I were going to choke, Deb mentioned that the place she was working related to sinuses. So there you have it.

I also notice a tingle in my shoulder when she worked with the corresponding hand place. I thought a good bit of what Deb told me was worth considering. As for the claims that reflexology treats cancer - I'd advise extreme, unyielding caution before making that claim or buying into it. That may be fodder for another sellable story - find a competing opinion and do a pro and con.

A bit of web research turns up charts and maps of the hands and feet, schools for reflexologists and contact information for a few. Deb works in Crystal Lake out in the burbs. She appears to know her business and has a soothing chair-side manner. If you're looking for an expert source for an article, or if you just need some "me" time before you refocus on your writing, I highly recommend her

Reiki is good treatment

The power of individuality – have courage and follow your own path “What is genius but the power of expressing a new individuality?” Elizabeth Barett Browning Are you in the process of creating something different in your life? Breaking through old beliefs and developing new habits? Are you changing career perhaps? Leaving the corporate world to go it alone? Are you finally taking the plunge and doing what you always wanted to do, and no longer what you “should” be doing?

If any of this relates to you then you have probably experienced the accompanying feeling of fear and resistance, the worrying that perhaps we are being daft trying be who we really are? That voice in your head may be telling you intermittently “Who do you think you are trying to make it? ” Why didn’t you just stay in that comfortable desk job? Ok it was boring but at least you got a regular pay check”?

Well the quote I mentioned above may well be just what you need to keep you motivated. Expressing a new individuality through creating the life you want, and were meant to live, and being true to yourself really IS genius. It’s the people who follow the truth that create the change other people just dream of seeing. It’s those of us who face our fears and take the plunge who ultimately act as inspirers and role models to others.

If we all were to focus on our individual strengths, then we would be a world of blossoming people and our individuality would shine.

The power of expressing a new individuality may be hard at first, but being your own person and celebrating that could bring more shine and magnificence to your life than you could ever imagine.

The more and more I follow and express my own individuality, rather than suppress it and keep it locked away. The more life pays me back and attracts greatness towards me.

Think about expressing new individuality, imagine how life could flow when you are embracing your own true self. I have experienced it happen and I have seen it happen. Life becomes easier and it simply flows effortlessly.

Reiki treatment for common diseases

In the western method of Reiki it has been the norm to recommend a full body treatment for any medical problem. Personally, as mentioned before, I have found that treating specific chakras or points connected to the organ or energy blockage causing the problem gives a much better result.

Hand positions for quick results
Based on a broad knowledge of the eastern way of looking at disease and methods for healing via the meridian system and acupuncture points etc. I have compounded information about which Reiki hand positions yield the best results for a specific problem.

My system is based on the common Reiki hand positions used here in the Western world. I have divided the body and positions into 4 different areas: Head, Body, Legs/Feet and Back.

Hand position photos to help you
If you choose the disease in the drop down menu above you will get a page with the Reiki hand positions that are most effective for that specific problem. You can also click to see a picture and a description of any position given.
